What is VJAM?

Interactive VJ Suite

VJAM is a browser based visual performance system that turns anyone into a VJ. Built for live events, parties, and public art installations, it pairs real time generative visuals with audience driven content. No special hardware, no downloads, no learning curve.

Narrative Control

Guests don't just watch. They remix. At the Reality Games premiere, partygoers layered their own messages over movie memes and shaped the visual story of the night in real time. Every event becomes a one of a kind, co-created media artifact.

◇ 01, Controls

The Control Surface

Every knob, fader, and button in VJAM and what it does, organized into five zones plus transport.

ZONE 01

Deck A / B + Crossfader

Two independent media decks with dropdowns for stills, video loops, or animated vjam-pack scenes. Crossfader blends between them. Nudge mid-set with ← / →.

ZONE 02

Color Lab

Output color correction applied after crossfading. Hue rotates 0–360°. Saturation defaults to 140%, contrast to 110% for punchy live output.

ZONE 03

Overlay Knobs

Independent hue/sat/opacity on the active procedural overlay or vjam-pack scene layer, separate from the Color Lab so you can color-contrast against the deck below.

Built to Play

Customize VJAM for Any Use

Every VJAM build is shaped to the room, the IP, and the audience. Drop in your assets, your memes, your characters, your storyworld. Then let the crowd extend it live. The platform is designed to keep things playful and stretch every IP into the moment.

Spill the storyworld into the room

Stretch a feature, series, or shorts release into the afterparty. Guests remix stills, clips, and memes from the film while the cast mingles. The visuals become a live trailer the room is making together.

WORLD PREMIERE

Reality Games Premiere Afterparty

VJAM debuted on May 16, 2026 at Gray Area in San Francisco for the premiere of Reality Games, a new film by director Michael Morgenstern. More than 300 guests packed the room. Dozens grabbed the controls and played VJ live, remixing memes from the film and dropping their own "narrative control" messages into the visual stream all night.

Case Study: Building VJAM

May 2026 at Realitycraft

VJAM was built in May 2026 at Realitycraft as an experiment in participatory media. The goal was simple. Make a lightweight, browser based VJ rig that drops into any venue and lets guests run the visuals from the phone in their pocket. No downloads. No training. Just walk up and play.

The Film Partnership

When director Michael Morgenstern and the Reality Games film team opened the door to art installations, Evo spotted an opening. The film is about media manipulation and narrative control, and VJAM let those ideas spill off the screen and into the room. A grant from the film team funded the premiere installation and turned the afterparty into a living extension of the movie's storyworld.

The Premiere Experience

Gray Area is a 300 capacity venue in San Francisco's Mission District. VJAM was projected on a wall visible on the dance floor and throughout the space. After the screening, guests flowed into the afterparty and dozens took turns at the VJ station, remixing clips from Reality Games and broadcasting their own "narrative control" messages across every wall while earning takeover points for their team. The result was a living, crowd sourced visual score for the night, remixing the memes from the movie in playful narrative takedowns.
